How The 2022 Fall Equinox Will Affect Your Zodiac Sign
Share
The Autumn Equinox is bookended by a trine between Venus in Virgo and Uranus in Taurus, bringing in a positive surprise for the collective regarding how we assign value, especially to food and nutrition, and a more tense aspect between Venus in Virgo and Neptune in Pisces on September the 24th, reminding us that we still have a long way to go when it comes to the way we assign value.
It is also closely followed by the New Moon in Libra, which will invite us to manifest a new kind of partnership, one based on respect and kindness and less on the ego. During Autumn, a lot of retrograde planets will go direct. Mercury will go direct on October the 2nd, Pluto will go direct on October the 8th, Jupiter will go direct on November the 23rd, and Neptune will go direct on December the 4th. With so many retrograde planets at once, collectively, we feel introspective and in our feelings. External forces seem to hit the pause button in our lives. Things are kept from us, we feel we don’t have enough information.
Once all of these go direct, life will “return to normal”, but will be kinder to those of you who have invested your time on self-reflection. The spanner in the works comes when Mars goes retrograde on October 30th till January 2023, forcing us to evaluate our actions and the way we cope with anger.
There will be two eclipses this autumn, on October 25th and November 8th. The first will be accompanied by a New Moon in Scorpio and the second by a Full Moon in Taurus. Expect some chaotic, erratic energy around this time. However, do trust that it’s all happening in your favor, not against you. The first eclipse will have to do with taboo topics and the way we fuse with each other. The second will have to do with what nourishes us, as well as our finances.
This is a brief analysis on how this season will affect each of us. Read for rising, Sun, and Moon, in that order.
Aries (March 21st to April 19th)
Aries natives tend to be deeply affected by the movement of Mars, the planet of aggression and rage but also proactivity and action. Then, it’s not such good news that, towards the end of October, this planet goes retrograde until January 12th 2023. If I were an Aries native, I would try to get as much done during September and the first days of October. After that, all your attempts towards action will be stunted. Embrace the retrograde as an opportunity to look inwards and get to know your own patterns of action. This is also a great time window to do some introspection as to the ways you express rage and trying to find some healthy ways to cope with anger.
Your actions have been on the slower side since August 10th, when Mars started a long transit in the Zodiac sign of Taurus. On October 16th, Mars will enter Gemini. You will feel the need to talk everything through. It’s almost as if you were getting to know yourself and your own opinions through talking to others. However, because of the retrograde, think twice before speaking, especially around the middle of November, when Mars will be forming a tense aspect with Neptune. You may speak before you have all the information you need, or talk with the wrong idea of a person or situation in mind, and later regret it.
Taurus (April 20th to May 20th)
Taurus will start off the season very much into the details of everything they do. From September the 29th to October 23th, however, the focus will be on aesthetics and relationships. The bulls that aren’t single and looking or actively working on their partnerships (business partnerships count) will be looking into changing something in their appearance or redecorating their homes.
On October the 23rd, the focus shifts towards the desire for fusion and transformation. A few of you, bulls, will be getting frisky around this date, trying to get some action in the bedroom. Shadow work is key around this date. After November 19th and until winter, though, the bull will be looking to learn new things and expand their intellectual horizons. A few of you may even plan a trip abroad. The climate around the end of autumn will be one of feeling carefree and looking for some fun, while sobering up slightly around topics that feel bigger than yourself.
November is a notable month for Taurus. On November 8th, the Full Moon and Eclipse in Taurus will bring about situations that invite you to reconsider the ways you define yourself and your identity. Even if it may hurt at first, you are invited to let go aspects of your identity that no longer serve you. The end of November may bring some explosive communication, both positive and negative, as your ruler, Venus, will be conjunct Mercury in Sagittarius. This will bring a blunt edge to your words, which some find refreshing and others hurtful.
Gemini (May 21st to June 21st)
Good news for Gemini, Mercury, Gemini’s ruler, goes direct shortly after the Autumn Equinox, on October 2nd. Mercury retrograde usually hits Gemini hard. Their talkative nature is often taken the wrong way and they suffer the most from miscommunication and misunderstandings. Most Geminis will feel a subconscious need to be diplomatic until October 29th. Then, you will be drawn to what isn’t readily available to the eye and the taboo. Your curious mind will probably have a blast with that, but be careful about what you say. This is especially the case on November 10th, when Mercury will form a square with Neptune. What you say may come back to bite you later, especially in your job or duties.
On November 17th, communication will become more fiery and playful as Mercury, your ruler, starts to transit through the Zodiac sign of Sagittarius. You may be placed in the position in which you have to mentor or teach someone else something important, whether it’s in your job or personal life. Even though Geminis are usually very knowledgeable, having to teach what they know is generally stressful to them. Take it as an opportunity to grow and deepen your knowledge. Try not to lose your temper in the process. From the 20th to the 30th of November, your capacity to share what you know will make you magnetic to both suitors and potential clients or bosses, so try to put your best foot forward even though you’re out of your comfort zone.
Towards the end of autumn, you will become more serious. As Mercury starts its transit through the Zodiac sign of Capricorn, you will become less tolerant to indirect communication or even communication that makes you waste your time. You’re all about business until winter begins. On December 8th there’s the Full Moon in Gemini. This gives you a great opportunity to reinvent yourself. This is a great day to set your New Year’s resolutions ahead of time. Think about what is truly good for you and now what society pressures you to be.
Cancer (June 22nd to July 22nd)
September the 25th is a great date to think about the place where you live. Are you happy with it or do you want to move? Do you want to redecorate it? Manifest a new beginning regarding where you live, and it will be rewarded. It is also a great date to start therapy and talk your feelings through. October 9th will force you to reevaluate your career so far. Are you in the right direction, or at least trying to find what the right direction is? Or are you just wasting time in some random job? The energy around this date is one of tough love. Be honest with yourself.
On October the 25th, you may part ways with a casual lover. Trust that the relationship was no longer serving you. If you’re single or in a long-term relationship, consider whether you are expressing yourself in the way you want to or whether you just sweep your emotions and who you are under the rug to prioritize others.
On October November the 8th, you are asked to reevaluate your friendships and your community. Observe what is there and try to see whether there are some toxic patterns you may be contributing to. On November the 23rd, a unique energy is available to you. Try to resolve once and for all to start out a new healthy habit or finally do away with an old one. The Universe is with you. Of course, don’t try to become an entirely new person, but you’d be surprised to find out how much of a difference having some greens with that pizza or fixing your sleeping schedule can make.
Finally, on December 8th, have your dream journal at the ready and your therapist at speed dial. Your subconscious mind is ready to purge. It may feel unpleasant while it’s happening, but hang in there for the priceless epiphany.
Leo (July 23rd to August 22nd)
Autumn starts off for the lions with a focus on relationships, business partners, and aesthetics. From October 23rd to November 22nd, they will be in their feelings. Doing shadow work during this time is key, or they may end up displaying possessive behavior that they themselves are not fans of. Finally, during the end of summer, a more light-hearted, fun-loving energy awaits. The lions will be yearning for adventure. However, they may also become overly blunt and reckless.
The two eclipses of October 25th and November 8th will hit them hard. On October 25th, their careers will come into tension with their home lives or emotions. If your career is psychologically detrimental to you, dear Leo, this eclipse won’t let you miss it. If you’ve neglected those that are closest to you because of it, you will have to face the music. On November the 8th, these themes will be repeated, this time with greater force, leading you to take concrete action.
Virgo (August 23rd to September 22nd)
Virgo is also deeply affected by Mercury retrograde. They will be collectively sighing a sigh of relief on October 2nd, when it comes direct, and they finally feel they are no longer against the current. However, around October the 1st and 3rd, they should be careful not to jump straight into action. Their ruler, by then transiting their own sign, will butt heads with Neptune, the planet of confusion and illusion, in Pisces. Virgo is very service-oriented, so certain seedy people that feed off the energy of others gravitate to Virgo like flies to honey.
October 6th and 7th marks a more positive energy when Mercury forms a trine with Pluto. Don’t miss your therapy appointment and sit down to journal. You may be able to articulate something you’ve been repressing for a long time. This is also a great day to interact with authority, so ask for that raise.
You start off autumn in your own version of what “diplomatic” looks like, and finish off with direct language that goes straight to business. Remember to temper both moods with the empathy people don’t give you enough credit for. When you’re trying to be diplomatic, don’t sell yourself short. When you’re trying to get things done, don’t forget there are humans on the other side, and you may have no idea what they are going through.
Libra (September 22nd to October 23rd)
This autumn you will go from being overly cautious and observant to absolutely carefree and reckless, with many shades of gray in the middle. It’s a bit of a rollercoaster, but you’ll also be absolutely magnetic. Mercury retrograde will also play a number on you Libras, as it will take place on your sign. However, you can feel some relief once it goes direct on October 2nd.
On September 25th, the New Moon in Libra gives you an excellent opportunity to reinvent yourself. Around the 26th and 27th, you may be questioning your purpose in life. It sounds like heavy stuff to have on your mind, but trust that you will have some epiphanies on the way. On October 13th, your efforts towards your interpersonal relationships will be recognized and, in some cases, rewarded. Around the 17th and the 18th, you will feel a boost of energy and vitality.
Scorpio (October 23rd to November 21st)
The scorpions will also be deeply affected once Mars goes retrograde on October 30th. They will feel depleted from their life force and their plans will be in a pause they didn’t plan for. However, the scorpions have an extra source of energy from Pluto, their modern ruler, which is due to go direct in Capricorn on October 8th. However, Pluto doesn’t have the capacity to regulate anger and emotion that Mars has. Even though Scorpio will have heaps of energy, especially if they are studying or taking a course, they should still be careful. Their actions shouldn’t become obsessive or unstoppable.
The more harmonious part of autumn will be between October 8th and 20th. For the rest, the scorpions can count on having enough energy for doing what they must, and then exercise caution. The New Moon and Eclipse in Scorpio of October 25th will provide Scorpio with a chance to set out early New Year’s resolutions or to reflect upon the person they are and the person they want to become. On November 8th, the Full Moon and Eclipse in Taurus will reveal some patterns for Scorpio as to how they form partnership. This applies to all Scorpios, regardless of relationship status. Get ready to observe and analyze without losing your cool.
Sagittarius (November 22nd to December 21st)
Sagittarius have been suffering from a bit of fatigue since their ruler, Jupiter, went retrograde on July 28th. However, they have been able to reconnect to their vital energy by moving their bodies and embracing some healthy competition. This is all about to change on October 28th, when Jupiter enters the sign of Pisces. Sagittarius are asked to embrace their empathy and their spirituality if they want to have enough vitality to both do their jobs and complete all the adventures they gravitate towards. On November the 23rd, the archers will be collectively feeling more themselves once Jupiter goes direct.
The end of September and October are a bit tense for Sagittarius, as they are asked to reevaluate the way they communicate and the way they value people and things (including themselves). On November 23rd, the New Moon in their own sign will allow them to become a new version of themselves if they so desire. December 8th allows them to see how they can become better patterns, including better partners to themselves by making better choices.
Capricorn (December 22nd to January 19th)
The goat has been unusually introspective since the summer, when Saturn, their ruler, went retrograde. They will pick up speed again on October 22nd, when it goes direct. Between September 26th to 30th, however, they will experience a boost in energy. Take advantage of this frame of time to get accomplished something that’s truly important to you.
In October, the focus is on relationships. The energy around meeting new people or making strides with your long-term partner is overall positive, so take advantage of that. On the 8th, though, Pluto goes direct in your sign. You have been feeling its effects for the last few years, but you certainly enjoyed the breather of its retrograde. If you haven’t been doing your shadow work and therapy, though, prepare to be hit in the face with the worst of your shadow – again.
November is more of a tense month. Your friends seem determined to make messes that involve you, or showing you your own shadow self over and over again. By the end of the month, though, you will experience a boost in energy. You finish autumn on a good note, full of poise and magnetism.
Aquarius (January 20th to February 18th)
From October 1st to 23rd, prepare. Both your rulers, Saturn and Uranus, will be butting heads. You will feel it as an internal battle. Your more rebellious instinct wanting to act against the orders of your morals and core values. Whether it’s just an existential crisis or a series of external events, it doesn’t look pretty. But you will emerge victorious and balanced by the end of this transit.
Autumn ends on a productive note, but expect some friendship drama in the middle. I know you don’t like this news, friends are everything to you after all. Trust that the right friends will stick around, and the rest are just lessons you need to learn to become a better version of yourself.
Pisces (February 19th to March 20th)
You start off on a bit of a tense note, with Venus in your house of partnership forming a tense angle with Neptune in your own sign. You tend to idealize your partners, and this always comes back to bite you. October is a chance for you to take a breather, as it will be an overall uneventful month for you. On the 23rd of November, Jupiter, your traditional ruler, also goes direct, and in your own sign. You will experience a lucky break and a reconnection with your sense of purpose.
December will be an extremely positive month. On the 4th, Neptune, your modern ruler, goes direct, giving you a boost of vitality and inspiration. On the 10th, Venus will form a harmonious aspect with Neptune in your own sign. This is a great day to meet people and make art.
